During this session, we will explore the history of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) in education and examine how educational systems have evolved over time to better support the diverse learners they serve. Together, we will identify areas where progress has been made, as well as areas where systems and practices have struggled to evolve alongside the changing needs of students and communities. We will consider the challenges that have influenced this progress and connect this history to how we are currently living out the four pillars of EDIB at Reach. Through reflection and discussion, we will identify opportunities for continued growth within our own school community and explore practical strategies for moving this work forward in ways that strengthen student experiences, belonging, and outcomes for all learners.
